The Refectory Restaurant

The Cathedral's Refectory Restaurant is open daily from 9.30am to 5.30pm (except 22 December - 5th January 2009 open 10.00am to 4.30pm and closed Christmas Day) offering a self-service buffet selection of light snacks throughout the day, plus morning coffee, hot and cold buffet lunches, afternoon tea - and plenty more besides. Freshly prepared hot lunches are served from midday through until 2pm.

Opened in April 2000, this unique glass-roofed area provides a wonderful space in which to relax, meet up with friends and enjoy reasonably priced food and drink, with views of the spire soaring 123m (404 ft) above you.

Families are always welcome, with a "Mini Munchkins" selection menu for younger children. Earlybird specials and cream tea specials available.

In the summer (end of May to mid September approx) you'll also find a range of sandwiches, cakes, pastries and drinks at the Ladywell Kiosk situated by the path from the High St Gate through to the Cathedral.

Special arrangements are offered for groups (min 15 people), with attractive discounts for advance bookings for morning coffees, lunches (by voucher with a full choice from the daily buffet) and afternoon teas.

The Restaurant also makes a stunning venue for private functions, corporate hospitality, wedding receptions, dinners and presentations. Along with the Chapter House it is available for private bookings in the evenings only.
