SALISBURY CATHEDRAL THE ICONIC SETTING FOR GLORIOUS FLOWER FESTIVAL, TUESDAY 14 - SATURDAY 18 JUNE 2011

Lovers of floral art are in for a real treat as Salisbury Cathedral holds another spectacular five day flower festival from Tuesday 14 June – Saturday 18 June 2011.

The cathedral’s last flower festival in 2008 attracted a phenomenal 18,000 visitors and much praise for the quality of its artistry and creativity. Internationally renowned floral judge, demonstrator, teacher and Chelsea Gold Medalist (2009) Michael Bowyer has again been invited to mastermind and design the festival. He plans to fill the iconic building with thousands of flowers, colours and fragrance in a mix of amazing contemporary, traditional and interpretative displays, all created by around 500 flower arrangers from churches and flower clubs. As in 2008, Michael will be ably assisted by Pam Lewis and Angela Turner, both national demonstrators and Chelsea Gold Medalists. Further information will be released in Autumn 2010 when Michael Bowyer will reveal the theme of the Festival and give details of some of the set-piece arrangements.

The flower festival will be open daily from 10.00am with last admission at 4.00pm. Tickets will be on sale from January 2011 via Salisbury Playhouse. To join a list for priority booking for Groups prior to the general release of tickets, contact 01722 555124 or email: groups@salcath.co.uk
